On July 16, 2020, Meadows was placed on the injured list after he tested positive for COVID-19, which caused him to miss the beginning of the abbreviated 2020 season. After recovering from the disease, he returned to the Rays on August 4. During the season, Meadows hit .205/.296/.371 in 36 games.
